Pasta

This split from Roman is doing fine. The newly purchased Italian queen is making herself a home.

They are making use of this open, foundation-less frame. Notice all the pollen and bee bread they are packing in.

In addition to the healthy brood boxes they are also packing in the honey. The mix of foundation and open frames is working out well. Some of these frames were checker-boarded in from the original Roman hive but they seem to know what to do with them.

This should turn out to be some nice comb honey from an open frame.
More open frame comb honey

So far these are the nicest looking frames with capped honey ready to be processed.
