Last week we ordered an unpainted hive online and it was delivered much quicker than we thought. That’s great, because the exterior will need to be painted before placing it in the yard.
On Saturday we bought a fully painted hive and all the other accessories needed for the apiary from a local supplier.
Frau Imkerin ready for action!
We now have around 30 days to find and prepare the best location to setup the hives. Once they are set and populated, you can’t just move them around at will. When we purchased the above items we also pre-paid for 2 packages of bees that should be ready for pickup around the first of April. Then the real fun begins, right honey?
